ABOUT US

The Northern Virginia Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-NOVA) is a volunteer-driven community of engineers, scientists, project managers, and other professionals committed to improving quality of life through sustainable engineering and community-driven development.

Founded in 2014, our chapter brings together volunteers from across Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and the surrounding region to partner with communities both locally and around the world. Through collaboration, technical expertise, and long-term relationships, we help communities address infrastructure challenges while building local capacity for lasting success.

Over the years, EWB-NOVA has supported projects in the United States and internationally, including work related to water supply, sanitation, community facilities, and other critical infrastructure needs. Our volunteers contribute their professional skills to create practical, sustainable solutions that are shaped by the priorities of the communities we serve.

As part of Engineers Without Borders USA, we are connected to a nationwide network of thousands of volunteers working to empower communities through engineering and sustainable development. Together, EWB-USA chapters have completed more than 1,100 projects benefiting millions of people around the world.

Whether you're an engineer, student, project manager, communicator, fundraiser, or simply someone who wants to make a difference, there is a place for you in EWB-NOVA. We invite you to join us as we work to build a more sustainable and equitable world—one partnership at a time.
